Mr. Homan's Weekly Parent Update 03/06/23
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Congratulations to the MMS Cub wrestling team for their 2nd place team for their second place finish at the BiState Championship Meet on Saturday. Thirteen wrestlers finished in the top three of their weight classes, and Lyall Stott, Marcus Swift and Owen Lassen had first place finishes. Great job, kids and coaches!
Superintendent hiring process – As noted, the process has been narrowed to two candidates who will visit MSD on the following days:
- March 6th Brian Lee, Principal Orofino Junior/Senior High School
- March 7th Shawn Tiegs, Superintendent Nez Perce School District
The candidates will each experience a full day of events as they are interviewed, meet district staff and tour the district. They will each give a community presentation on the day of their visits, respectively, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the High School Auditorium.
Sports Update: Our next season begins right after spring break with Track and Field for 6th through 8th grade boys and girls. Registration is open at this time in Register My Athlete. If your child has already participated in a sport this year, registration involves simply adding Middle School Track and Field and paying the sports fee. If your child has not yet participated in a sport this year, please go to the Register My Athlete webpage, Look for Moscow High School and then Middle School Track. Please contact the Moscow Middle School office or Athletic Director Mitch Running ( [email protected] ) if you have questions. Last spring we had well over 150 kids out for track and field and are looking forward to a great turnout again this year. Coach Thill will be hosting lunchtime informational meetings for interested Cubs within the next two weeks.
