Mr. Holman's Weekly Parent Update 04/12/21

Dear Parents and Guardians:

This week we are back on the current 4-day schedule, with students attending Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  We encourage any students who wish to come in for extra help or just to have a quiet place to focus on school work to do so on Wednesday morning.  No appointment is necessary, and we are still providing breakfast and lunch.

Idaho State ISAT Testing - We begin state science testing this Friday for 8th graders only in their science classes.  We will be testing all students in ELA and mathematics next week.  Students will be on an adjusted schedule for testing, and online-only students will be participating with their classes on this same adjusted schedule.  Please see the attachment:  MMS Daily ISAT schedule.pdf

There is no specific studying to do prior to this testing.  We ask that students be well rested and we encourage them to relax (as much as possible) and just get ready to try their best.  We have prepared a document for the students and you, outlining some do's and don'ts for testing days, attached here:  Student Info for ISAT Testing.pdf   Importantly, students need to bring headphones or earbuds in case they wish to select to listen to verbal prompts when applicable.  We do have headphones and headsets with microphones available for students who have listed accommodations and for those who are not able to supply their own.  We are encouraging students to bring their own hearing equipment if possible, however. Please read through the attached document and have your child do so as well prior to next week.  Contact us if you have questions about anything!

MMS Track and Field - We really enjoyed being able to create a track meet type experience for the kids, the first time in nearly two years!  Conditions were breezy and chilly, not unusual for early season.  I apologize for the technical difficulties with timing for a few events and also with the broadcast. Our next meet date is scheduled for Friday, April 23, with events beginning at 3:45 pm.  It is our hope that the main bleacher repair will be finished by that time, and I'll provide updates as the date approaches.

On the calendar -
